1) "What
Is Management’s Role in Innovation?"
- The
term "management" really is counter to innovation. Innovation
can't be managed but it can be facilitated by creating environments that
give people space to think and share and providing structures that enable
ideas to captured and explored. What then is the real role of management?
To be the facilitators and champions of knowledge transfer and innovation.
2)"Leadership Lessons From Outer Space"
- Nobody knows that better than Virts, who
has served as the chief of the F-16 HARM. Virts is also a 2011 graduate
of the General Management Program. Hands-off is Virts' usual
management style in the space station. An astronaut's career hardly
fits the corporate mold. Virts indicated that it's a matter of
character and attitude. Virts then admitted what really wows him. Equipped
with rubber bands, the bags un-fussily but effectively deal with garbage
in a weightless environment.
3) "Secrets to a
Successful Social Media Strategy"
- I
agree with the point of writer about what online platforms are giving and
what offline experience isn't, and I clearly have no issue in
understanding how companies can engage customers via social media, but are
companies really making sales via social media? I mean companies like Coke
and Pepsi of course aren't doing it for sales, rather to be the part of
family but what about new companies? How can they generate sales via
social media?
